The closing concert of the festival by the Spanish Brass ensemble is highly anticipated by music connoisseurs. In 1996, the ensemble won first prize at the 6th International Brass Quintet Competition in Ville de Narbonne (France), considered the most prestigious competition of this genre in the world. In 2020, the ensemble was awarded the National Music Prize by the Spanish Ministry of Culture. In addition to 32 recordings, the ensemble also organises festivals dedicated to brass band music: the BALZ Festival Spanish Brass Alzira and Brassurround, featuring renowned ensembles and guest soloists. The ensemble will perform chamber music opuses and rarely performed compositions specially written for the symphonic wind orchestra and brass quintet.
